JKriv is the Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and label owner. A career spanning nearly two decades, with releases and remixes on labels such as Soundway Records, Glitterbox or his own respected record label, Razor-N-Tape.

JKriv brings a seasoned musicality to everything he touches. A trained musician with a knack for live instrumentation, which shines through in his original disco productions. Contributing to studio sessions for the likes of Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco, Studio 54’s Night Magic Vol. 1, or his own nu-disco band Escort; JKriv re-imagines the classic disco sound, whilst always keeping his ear to the dance floor. 

A heavily supported and rotated artist with worldwide gigs, JKriv backs up these claims on this brand-new remix of Casbah 73’s Let’s Invade the Amazon. He turns up the disco and remixes Casbah 73’s live funk workout into quite the tropical-tinged nu-disco club heater. The hypnotic approach to the bass line results in an everlasting groove, whilst the floating vocals provide a wistful, yet exuberant quality. As the version progresses, JKriv’s devilish musicality becomes apparent; live electric pianos swirl around the glassy cuts, in turn trading places for optimistic organ stabs leading into the tastiest solo we’ve heard in a little while. 

The package comes complete with an amazing JKriv Jungle Dub version and an instrumental for all your DJ delights. To round off the release, Casbah 73 has added both an excellent Afro rework of Let’s Invade the Amazon titled Javari Takedown, and similarly inspired Disco Mix to drop on your local dancefloor.
